Oxidized, low molecular weight polymer. Acts as a release agent. Contains oxygenated functional groups such as acids, esters, and alcohols, which facilitate water emulsification and also improve solvent solubility as compared to inert polymers. Emulsifies into water-based systems and provides reactive sites. It is immiscible at room temperature in hydrocarbon, aromatic, or oxygenated solvents. Solubility in all of these solvents is improved at elevated temperatures.
