Berg+Schmidt is an established Hamburg-based company with more than 60 years’ experience in lipid technology.
Their ranges of naturally-derived fatty acids & alcohols serve as additives in metalworking, CASE, inks and several other industries.
BergaBest MCT Oil 60/40
Glycerin ester of caprylic and capric acid, commonly used in food-related applications such as food grade inks and lubricants.
BergaCare Esters
Palmitic and stearic acid esters, for uses such as ink production and lubricants for compression moulding.
BergaGuard Corrosion Inhibitors
A range of lubricant additives which work to prevent corrosion on both the tool and the workpiece. Characterised by good water solubility and film formation.
BergaLub Lubricant Additives
A range of esters and fatty acids suitable for use in metalworking and plastic processing formulations. Additives perform various functions, acting as plasticisers, solvents, and lubricants.
BergaSolv Solvents
Ester- and fatty acid ester-based solvents for versatile applications, including detergents, textile treatment products, adhesives and sealants, lubricants and greases, crop protection, and water treatment.
BergaSurf Surfactants
Methyl esters used in the construction industry as mould release agents, solvents, and plasticisers.
Bergazid Fatty Acids
Naturally-occurring organic acids that are obtained from oils and fats by hydrolysis and are refined by fractionation, distillation, or hydrogenation. They differ in the length of the carbon chains, which are unbranched in natural fatty acids and have an even number of carbon atoms. Vegetable fatty acids and their derivatives are used in numerous technical, cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.
Sternoil Castor Oil Derivatives
Used as additives for lubricants in metalworking, combustion engines, and turbines. The structure of castor oil consists of 80 to 85% of the triglyceride of ricinoleic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid with exceptional chemical properties. In addition to a hydroxyl group, it possesses an isolated double bond. This structure gives castor oil high viscosity and remarkable resistance to oxidation.
