Achieve exceptional stability and electrolyte tolerance in your emulsion polymer formulations.
Innospec’s EMPIPHOS® alkyl phosphate esters are emulsion polymerisation (EP) additives. Useful for wetting & solubilising, EMPIPHOS® grades also impart properties including hydrotropy, electrolyte tolerance, and corrosion inhibition into formulations.
EMPIPHOS® is suitable for architectural and decorative coatings and can serve as the sole emulsifier, or as a co-emulsifier in systems containing nonionic surfactants. It is additionally employed in metalworking fluid formulations.
Available chemistries from Innospec include:

Why choose EMPIPHOS®?
100% active Economic for shipment and improved handling/lower environmental impact over solvent-based additives.
Enhanced formulation compatibility Excellent electrolyte tolerance improves compatibility with other additives. Can be neutralized by alkaline earth metals or amines, adding to their versatility.
Variety of surfactant properties Choice of chain length and linear/branched structure helps formulators to develop products with the required wetting, foaming and surface tension reduction.
