Ethyleneamines

Primarily used as reactive intermediates, due to their high reactivity they can form polymeric products, act as hydrophiles in surfactants, interact with metal ions and metal surfaces, be acid scavengers and be quarternised.

Diethylenetriamine (DETA)

Main applications include use as wet strength resins, chelating agents for detergents, pigment dispersion, metal treating, and oil production. Epoxy curing agents in coatings and adhesives and building. Also used as fuel additives and in oil drilling as viscosity modifiers and emulsifiers

Lowest molecular weight ethyleneamine. Used as bleach activators in laundry detergents, textiles, and paper. Also used in hot melt adhesives and as plastic and metal processing aid.
