Huntsman Cement Additives for Improved Mechanical Properties
Huntsman Performance Products offer a variety of additives for the construction market. This includes air entraining agents, super plasticisers and quality improvers. Huntsman Surfactants, such as EMPIMIN® MKB, can be added to dry or wet mix applications to increase the service life of cement.
Huntsman Surfactants Increase Longevity
Air entraining agents such as EMPIMIN® MKB and NANSA® LSS 495 improve longevity of final products by increasing the resistance to freeze-thaw degradation. Surfactants formulated into admixtures increase cohesion and improve compaction in low workability mixes, whilst avoiding loss in impact strength.
Super plasticisers act as high range water reducers, providing early strength enhancement and reducing time between secondary processing. Due to being a naphthalene based super plasticiser, DEHSCOFIX® 161 retards curing time. Slow curing time affects slump retention, preventing it from changing during transportation. Therefore the final slump does not need to be reformulated on site, saving valuable time.
Huntsman Range of Alkylalkanolamines Improve Quality and Curing Time
Huntsman Performance Products also offer a range of alkylalkanolamines such as N-Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA). These are cement additives which improve quality by reducing the number of bugholes in dried cement. MDEA accelerates curing time, also increasing early strength development in the slump. Cements with optimum curing time allow less cement to be used, offering vital cost reductions and lowering carbon footprint.
