Bioavailability/Solubility enhancers

Alfa’s partner, Gattefossé, offers a range of excipients designed to improve the solubility and enhance the bioavailability of poorly water soluble drugs.

Semi-solid or liquid bioavailability enhancers can be used in binary systems as a simple oily phase to solubilise the active, or used in the creation of more complex formulations such as Self-Emulsifying Drug Delivery Systems (SEDDS) and Self-MicroEmulsifying Drug Delivery Systems (SMEDDS®).

Semi-solid and liquid excipients can be used in hard gelatin or HPMC capsules, or softgels. In addition Gattefossé has developed formulation techniques to allow the excipients to be used in solid dosage forms.
