Gattefossé lipid excipients can provide effective formulation strategies for poorly water soluble API. Lipid-based formulations can improve drug delivery by normalizing and enhancing oral bioavailability.
Low HLB oily vehicles provide formulation solutions for highly lipophilic API. Self-emulsifying (SELF) formulations can be developed using a single self-emulsifying excipient in a binary system with a drug substance, or using multiple excipients in a SEDDS (Self Emulsifying Drug Delivery System), or SMEDDS (Self Micro Emulsifying Drug Delivery System) when additional surfactant power is required to solubilise the API in aqueous systems.
Gattefossé’s semi-solid and liquid excipients can be used in hard gelatin or HPMC capsules, or softgels. In addition Gattefossé has developed formulation techniques to allow the excipients to be used in solid dosage forms.
