NPT Performalene® Polyethylenes

These are low molecular weight linear polyethylenes specially designed for use in the cosmetic industry. Their narrow molecular weight distribution ensures a sharp precise melt point and low melt viscosity making them easy to use. At levels of 2-15% sticks can be made from oils and they can have considerable advantages over natural waxes. They can also increase the SPF of suncare formulations by changing the rheology of the oil phase.

PERFORMALENE 400 Polyethylene Linear, low molecular weight polyethylene wax. Excellent for thickening and structuring oils in creams, lotions and hair waxes. They are compatible with most cosmetic oils and form heat stable stick formulas. On application, they form a flexible, light film with a matte appearance. In sunscreens, these polymers have the ability to double SPF values by changing the rheology of the oil phase to achieve more uniform application and coverage.
