APMMEA and APMMEA-WB

Huntsman's APMMEA-WB and APMMEA amine neutralisers provide optimum pH, emulsion stability and enhanced pigment dispersion, has low viscosity and are essentially colourless.

Easy to incorporate, APMMEA-WB is a cost effective drop-in alternative to neutralising agents, such as 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) and fugitive ammonia, whilst maintaining or even increasing paint performance.   Compared to AMP 95, APMMEA-WB gives better long term stability and is ideal for formulating lower odour paints.

Used for a variety of water-based coatings APMMEA-WB has a high boiling point and low vapour pressure which gives it a minimal VOC contribution.

APMMEA is a 100% version of APMMEA-WB with an amine content of 15meq/g, higher then AMP. When used as an alternative to AMP it results in a higher pH, higher paint viscosity and an improved thickening effect.  APMMEA can help you reduce the level of other paint additives e.g. thickeners or dispersants in your formulation.

The products are detailed in the table below.
