SteriTouch® antimicrobial additives

The SteriTouch® range of antimicrobial additives employs silver ions which kill bacteria by blocking the cells respiratory system. SteriTouch® silver biocides can be successfully incorporated into a variety of products including silicone rubber, coatings, inks, lacquers, varnishes, resins and UV cured coatings.

Free independent testing is offered for developments.  All products are independently tested against E. Coli and MRSA; testing is carried out according to the JIS Z 2801:2000 standard.

SteriTouch® antimicrobial additives are effective against most bacteria, including Staphylococcus, Aureus (including hospital superbugs like MRSA), E. Coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Enterococcus Faecium and Pseudomonas. SteriTouch® antimicrobial additives will also prevent the growth of mould and algae.

The silver ions begin killing bacteria as soon as they are deposited on the surface of a product containing SteriTouch®; tests have demonstrated a reduction of up to 99.99% within 24 hours. The biocide additive will remain effective beyond the useful lifetime of most products; tests have shown the additives to be as effective after 8 years as when first incorporated into the host material.

SteriTouch® antimicrobial additives have exceptionally low toxicity, are non-irritant and non-sensitising.
