Antimicrobials and Other Biocides

Biocides are chemical substances capable of killing living organisms, usually in a selective way. Antimicrobial additives are effective against most bacteria and will also prevent the growth of mould and algae. Fungicides, algaecides and bactericides are known for their excellent performance and low addition levels. Antimicrobials can be added to silicone rubber, coatings, inks, lacquers, varnishes, resins and UV cured coatings. Other uses include in-can preservatives, fuel additives and I&I applications.
