Wetting Agents

A wetting agent is a type of surfactant that lowers the surface tension of a substance to lower than that of the substrate to allow it to wet-out on the surface.  Improving wetting helps coatings remain in contact with the surface, and cleaners to wet the surface for more effective cleaning.  Selecting a wetting agent depends on properties desired for the end product.
