Abyssinian oil (Crambe Abyssinica) behaves in a very similar way to Argan oil in haircare formulations, delivering similar or better results in most areas.

Elementis Specialities, in collaboration with the independent Research Organisation TRI Princeton, have found that Abyssinian oil (Crambe Abyssinica) behaves in a very similar way to Argan oil in haircare formulations, delivering similar or better results in most areas.

Testing was carried out on ethnic hair and a variety of tests were done:
Combability:
Abyssinian oil delivers slightly better conditioning results and easier combing than with Argan Oil
Anti-breakage: On a repeated grooming test there were fewer broken fibres with Abyssinian oil compared with Argan oil
Shine enhancing: Abyssinian oil gives the same high shine and healthy appearance of hair as Argan Oil does.
