Gatuline Radiance - the name says it all!

Gattefossé are proud to announce the launch of a further Gatuline® to compliment the famous natural actives range.

This product is inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine, and is based on the Wu-Zhu-Yu (Evodia rutaecarpa) plant, a fast growing Asian scrub.  The active molecules Evodiamine and Rutaecarpine found in the extract have been proven to increase skin microcirculation and vasodilation, giving rise to improved skin tone and colour.

It is well known that factors such as smoking, pollution, UV rays, stress etc. contribute to a decrease in blood flow and this leads to poor microcirculation.  This in turn causes a decrease on oxygen to skin cells lading to a dull complexion.  The mechanism of action of Gatuline® Radiance is explained below.
NO (Nitric Oxide) is a booster of vasodilation in smooth muscle cells, therefore any active substance that can boost production of NO will also increase vasodilation and microcirculation. 

Efficacy data:

A test was carried out where Gatuline® Radiance was combined with endothelial cells at three levels: 0.1%, 0.5% and 1%.  A placebo of Propandiol (solvent) was also tested.  At the 1% level NO production was seen to increase by 111%. Explants of skin were also tested using a gel of 1% Gatuline® Radiance.  The stimulation of dermal capillaries could be clearly seen under the microscope and the size was found to have increased by 171%.
A clinical study was carried out on 20 volunteers for 28 days.  A 3% Gatuline® Radiance cream was tested against a placebo and several conclusions were reached:
- The face reflects light significantly better with Gatuline® Radiance
- Gatuline® Radiance significantly improves skin colour
- Gatuline® Radiance significantly improves brightness and transparency of the skin
- The improvement in fineness of the texture of skin could be clearly seen in before and after photos.
