Meadowquat HG-70 is a novel hair conditioning active produced by reacting Meadowfoam seed oil to create a very mild diamido, lipid rich quaternary compound which is very stable even in harsh environments like hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide.

Meadowquat HG-70 is a novel hair conditioning active produced by reacting Meadowfoam seed oil to create a very mild diamido, lipid rich quaternary compound which is very stable even in harsh environments like hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide.  The combination of the quat and Meadowfoam moiety adsorbs on negatively charged keratin surfaces such as hair to increase its hydrophilic barrier which in turn leads to a reduced rinse out of fragrance, colour or other actives.
Of all its benefits its probably its colour protecting properties which are the most impressive. Hair swatches were coloured with a marketing leading product after which some swatches were shampooed and conditioned which another market product and the same product to which 5% Meadowquat HG70 had been added. Results clearly showed that the performance of the shampoo and conditioner was boosted by the addition of the Meadowquat HG70
Data is also available to demonstrate its ability to increase fragrance deposition on the hair from a shampoo and also its increase its longevity.
